Nokia goes Wi-Fi

All Nokia handsets that use Symbian Series 80 OS will have wireless local area network capability. Not only Series 80 phones have the capability also growing number of Series 60 phones incorporate wireless Lan. Read more about the story.

I’ve long thought that the guy behind Nokia’s USA distribution strategy must be just a cardboard figure, one of those you see abandoned at trashcans right after trade shows and other exhibitions. Just think of it, first sales points include: Ritz Camera stores, Neiman Marcus holiday catalogue and CompUSA stores. They could also try Tupperware and swoop those moms off their feet.

You refer to US networks I also think that they are in the key position. If they take Nokia as part of their selection, then we will see Nokia’s market share to improve. In this case it is not about the product but distribution. In every sales job that I have done, I have come to notice that whatever one offers, one is also able to sell. Motorola must have US operators tightly in their pockets.
